Our Wedding Day: First Kiss

Once we had our rings exchanged, the only thing standing between me and a kiss with my new husband was our marriage pronouncement.

Luckily, we decided to keep the pronouncement short and sweet.

“Mr. and Ms. Adams, we have heard your promise to share your lives in marriage.

We recognize and respect the vows you have made here this day before each one of us as a witness and before God.

In the honesty and sincerity of what you have said and done here today, and in accordance with the laws of the state of Maryland, it is my honor and delight to declare you henceforth to be husband and wife.

You may seal your vows with a kiss.”

Yay, it’s kiss time!!

Now this kiss went on for quite awhile.

So long, in fact, that my grandmother yelled from the front row, “that’s enough” (which you can clearly hear on our wedding video, thanks Noni, way to keep it classy).

I would like to think the kiss went on for so long because we are so romantic but really we were just following directions.

Before our ceremony started, our videographer specifically asked us to make our first kiss a good one. He needed time to get from behind our arbor to the end of the aisle so that he could catch us processing back up the aisle.

I think these pictures prove that we met the challenge….although I do wish the camera man wasn’t freaking right there during our first kiss but oh well. I certainly wasn’t going to yell at him during the middle of the ceremony and tell him to move (trust me, we did not discuss him standing right there to film).

So if you take anything away from our first kiss, it should be: a) make last (even if your grandma doesn’t like it, she’ll get over it and you’ll have great pictures) and b) discuss with your videographer prior to your wedding where he will be filming during your ceremony (it didn’t by any means ruin our ceremony but it would be nice if he wasn’t there).

Such pretty pictures. Isn't it weird that you have to remember to kiss for a while? But it does make for the best footage in the end!

The mister was the one who reminded me way before the wedding about making the kiss last. I thought it was so cute that he was so adamant about that detail. It definitely made for great pictures for you guys!!!
