So with the mercury glass, silver and milk glass motif set, I started searching. Everyday, I look for wedding related steals on Ebay, Craigslist, Weddingbee Classifieds, and Etsy. On the weekends, I drag Mr. A to Salvation Army, Goodwill and other random antique stores. It’s been quite an adventure. Even Mr. A has been getting into it. He high fives me every time we find a deal. Our collection has really been growing. We are more than half way there. Want to see pictures?
First up, these beautiful mercury glass votives. I purchased 57 of them on Craigslist for $30. Quite a steal considering similar votives sell for over $2 a votive online. We purchased enough of them to have a few placed on every table as well as others sprinkled around the placecard table and the cocktail area.
We decided to stick with smaller sized goblets and vases because we wanted to use several small arrangements per table instead of one big one. The vases above were collected from anywhere and everywhere, Goodwill, Ebay, Salvation Army and even a few donations
I purchased the larger lots from Ebay and from an antique store in Old Town. In general, I’ve found better deals on Ebay than in the antique stores in regards to the big lots. Most antique stores ask anywhere between $5-$8 a glass while you can find $3 glasses on Ebay. If you have the time, it’s definitely worth researching and scrubbing through Ebay to find the $3 glasses.
In addition to finding table centerpieces, I also wanted to find bigger vases to hold my bouquet and the bridesmaids’ bouquets.
I found these for $2 a piece at Salvation Army. I’m still on the look out for 3 more vases but I hope to use my bouquet to decorate our sweetheart table and the bridesmaids’ bouquets to decorate the candy buffet.
We also collected these two large containers for a couple bucks from Goodwill. We plan to use these on either side of our placecard table. And that ends our milk glass collection. It’s pretty big wouldn’t you say? And we should have even more in a few days when my new Ebay purchase arrives.
Mr. A and I really enjoyed the journey in finding these deals. It’s definitely a more personalized touch for our wedding than buying vases at the Dollar Store.
How have you incorporated steals into your wedding decor?

Those votives are such a find! Can't wait to see what else you come up with!
@peachyplum-Thanks! I thought the girl was kidding when she posted the price. I definitely lucked out.
